A marketing and sales funnel consists of two parts: the pre-purchase phase and the post-purchase phase. These are divided into 9 stages

The Pre-Purchase Phase

This is where a potential customer goes from “never heard of you” to “I’m ready to buy.” It’s about building awareness, earning trust, and making the path to purchase as clear and smooth as possible.

Level 1: Awareness (Interaction)

They’re just discovering you. Your job? Get in front of them. Whether it’s through social media, content, referrals, or ads—this is your visibility stage.

Level 2: Interest (Education)

Now that they know who you are, they’re starting to care. Show them you understand their problems and can offer real solutions. Think content, free resources, short trainings.

Level 3: Consideration (Research)

They’re actively comparing options—including your competitors. Make it easy for them to understand how your approach is different and why it works.

Level 4: Intent (Evaluation)

They’re thinking about buying. This is your time to clearly connect the dots between your offer and their goals. Use case studies, testimonials, and detailed sales pages.

Level 5: Confidence (Justification + Motivation)

They want to say yes, but they need a little reassurance. Help them justify the purchase—financially, emotionally, or logically. Bonuses, guarantees, or urgency work well here.

Level 6: Conversion (Purchase)

Make the checkout process simple. Clear CTA. Fast loading page. Minimal clicks. Remove the friction so they can say “yes” without hesitation.

The Post-Purchase Phase

This part is just as important. It’s where you turn new buyers into loyal fans—and maybe even repeat customers.
